Oyster SJ 35

Remarks :

The Oyster Marine SJ35 is a genuine family cruiser/racer. She comes from a long line of Stephen Jones designed cruiser/racers that over many years have proved consistently that the Jones design concept is successful. The SJ35 is responsive at all times, is still a good club racer and a fast cruiser. This boat is being sold by way of sealed BIDS due to the owner s health and the work required on the vessel. The vessel is being sold as seen. This yacht has been ashore for the past 10 years.

Accommodation :

The accommodation offers eight berths in two cabins. The Forepeak is given over to sail stowage and marine toilet.  It has two settee berths with pilot berths outboard. 

The galley id to Port with the Chart Table opposite. The galley has a two burner gimballed gas cooker with grill and oven which was new in 1999.

There are four berths in two quarter berths on Port and Starboard.

History & Construction:

Hull, deck and superstructure moulded in white GRP with blue caviter and boot top stripes, with Kevlar strengthening in the Bow and Stern sections. Lead Fin keel and balanced rudder with tiller steering. Internal joinery in teak and teak faced plywood. The yacht has been ashore at Swale Marina for at least the past 10 years. 




Mechanical :
Sails and Spars:

Fractional rigged sloop. Anodised aluminium mast and boom by Kemp Spars. The mast was new in 1994. Age of the standing rigging is believed to be 1994 The spectra running  running rigging is believed to be 1997.Spinnaker pole. Slab reefing mainsail, Headsail foil. 

Winches:

• 2 x Lewmar 42 sheet winches,
• 2 x Lewmar 30 Halyard winches
• 2 x Lewmar control line winches.

Sails:

It has not been possible to check the sail inventory at this stage, but we believe that the following sails are available:

Mechanical Systems:

This SJ35 is fitted with a Yanmar 2GM20 diesel engine located at the forward end of the saloon. This Yanmar 2GM20 we understand was fitted new in 1999 together with a new Aquadrive, shaft and controls. Electric start, shaft drive to a folding two blade propeller that was new in 2000. It has a 9 gallon stainless steel fuel tank giving an approximate rage of 180 miles at a cruising speed of 6 knots. It has a maximum speed of 7 knots. 

Electrical Systems:

2 x 12V batteries, age and condition unknown charging from engine alternator,
