The build of this S&S Swan 55 started in 1974 and she was handed over to her first owner for the season 1975. Yawl rigged "Swan Valahalla" is the last of the 16 sisterships build in total (sloops & yawls) between 1970 and 1975. Coming from Olin Stephens´ drawing board and designed for RORC/CCA the classic Swan 55 yawl continued a run that Olin started with the concept of famous "Dorade" in 1929. Though Swan Valhalla has been continuously updated for sailing in the 21st century (i.e. new Perkins Turbo M85 diesel engine in 2000, new Seldon mast, boom and rigging in 2013, new main & mizzen sail 2019, new electronics and more) she is still very much unspoiled from her original design and charm. One of her sisterships, S&S Swan 55 yawl "Galiana", sailed the 2023-24 Ocean Globe Race, proving that these yachts are still tough, fast go anywhere yachts. A true piece of yachting history, ready to be admired and taken to new adventures or used for leisurely activities. Available now for viewing by appointment in Mallorca/Spain.
