Description

This Hallberg-Rassy built in 1998 is a fine example of the Swedish yard’s renowned craftsmanship and blue-water capability. Designed by Germán Frers, this yacht combines classic lines, solid construction, and a comfortable interior—qualities that have made Hallberg-Rassy a top choice among serious sailors worldwide.

This particular vessel has been well maintained and thoughtfully updated over the years, retaining her original character while benefiting from modern upgrades. Her GRP hull, center cockpit layout, and protected steering position make her a safe and dependable cruising yacht, ideal for extended passages or liveaboard life.

Below deck, the warm teak joinery, practical U-shaped galley, and spacious aft cabin with en-suite head provide the comfort and seaworthiness expected from a Hallberg-Rassy of this era.

Sailors in the know don’t ask why Hallberg-Rassy — they ask which one.

Broker comments

Hallberg-Rassy 39 was built from 1991 until 2003. A total of 209 boats were built. Number 1-54 (between 1991 and 1994) were the Mark I, number 55-209 (between 1994-2003) were Mark II. The main difference between Mk I and Mk II, is that the Mk I has a traditional transom and the Mk II has a developed transom with built in bathing platform. The rest of the hull, keel, rudder, engine and sailplan remained the same.

"...this yacht has the proper makings of an offshore cruising yacht. Below, the mahogany interior is flawlessly joined and meticulously finished, a hallmark of Hallberg-Rassy yachts... Not readily visible are the tell-tale signs of Hallberg-Rassy above-average engineering and building methods, lurking unseen behind the fine joinery below. The builder's reputation for excellence translates into good resale value... My experience with Hallberg-Rassy has convinced me that sailboats can make beautiful, safe homes. If comfortable passages, solid construction, elegance and attention to detail make sense, then so does the Hallberg-Rassy 39" - Cruising World Magazine, November 1995.
