KING MARINE Dixon 73

Designed by Dixon Yacht Design and launched in 2012, Dixon 73, KAHUNA is a unique bluewater cruiser, providing exceptional comfort onboard and great sailing performance. After a full refit in 2020/21, and further works over the winter of 2022/23, she is ready for a new owner.

Construction

RCD Status: The yacht conforms with the essential safety requirements of Directive 94/25EC or RCDII (2013/53/EU as appropriate (Recreational Craft Directive) and is categorised A – “Ocean”.

 

Hull, Deck & Superstructure Construction:

• Composite E-glass laminate with carbon reinforcement in structural areas and PVC foam core. 
• Watertight bulkheads for the bow locker and to the lazarette aft.
• Three bulkheads with watertight doors i.e., engine room, lazarette and stern platform.
• Four integrated portholes to port and starboard side for light entrance.
• Composite E-glass laminate deck with PVC foam core.
• Teak laid decks, white caulking.
• White superstructure, raised deck saloon with large window screens and teak covered roof.

 

Keel & Rudder:

• Fin keel (steel) with lead bulb ballast.

Machinery

Engine & Gearboxes:

• 1 x Yanmar 6LYA-STP, 340hp – 2012.
• Kanzaki reduction gearbox (2.43/1).
• ZF electronic controls.
• Racor filters.
• Sub Aqua Halyard exhaust.

 

Maintenance & Performance:

• Engine hours – approx. 3,754 as of January 2026.
• Maximum speed approx. 10 knots.
• Cruising speed approx. 8 knots.
• Cruising range approx. 1,000nm.
