Description

Moody S31 Excel | Big Adventure Sailing with Small-Boat Running Costs

This example benefits from several valuable upgrades. These include a new Volvo Penta D1-30 saildrive engine, new heads and holding tank, new autopilot, and new sprayhood and bimini. The engine showed just 94.7 hours in October 2025. It has also received extensive servicing, including new freshwater and seawater pumps, an alternator and belt, an exhaust elbow, and a fully serviced heat exchanger. Free storage until October 2026 adds further value.

She has a white GRP hull, deck, and superstructure with a cast iron fin keel and half skeg rudder. Tiller steering and the aft cockpit layout make her easy to handle. Below deck, the teak interior feels warm and practical. Accommodation is arranged for up to six across two cabins and the saloon, with around 6ft 2in of headroom. The layout includes a Jabsco heads with shower and a well-equipped galley with Dometic cooker, grill and oven, Waeco Dometic fridge, and stainless steel sink.

On deck she is well equipped for relaxed cruising. Lewmar halyard and genoa winches manage sail handling, while a Lofrans electric windlass with two remotes makes anchoring simple. The inventory also includes bow and stern anchors, swimming platform, ladder, deck shower, and passarelle. Navigation equipment features a B&G Vulcan 7-inch chart plotter, Simrad TP32 tillerpilot autopilot, Garmin wind indicator, speed and log instrument, Plastimo bulkhead compass, and ICOM VHF. The sale also includes a 2.40m Freesun tender with Bison NRS 40L electric outboard.

A spacious, well-upgraded cruiser, this Moody 31 Excel offers an ideal platform for affordable Mediterranean sailing and big adventures on a sensible budget.

The condition or level of safety equipment on board is not to be negotiated on following survey. It is likely to be listed by most surveyors but is not structural or an integral working part of the vessel and is not to be used to further negotiate the price down after survey. We strongly suggest that for your own personal safety that when purchasing a yacht you provide new safety equipment rather than relying on second hand gear.

Should you become the new owner of this yacht then the responsibility to re-register or update official bodies for items such as EPIRB, VHF, MMSI or AIS becomes yours.
