Description

The Halmatic 30 is a well-regarded cruiser that combines solid British construction with reassuring sea-keeping ability, making her an ideal choice for coastal cruising and passage making alike. Accommodation


The forward cabin has a V berth with infill and is spacious enough for two adults, there is ample stowage in this cabin. Coming aft there is the heads with a manual wash basin and sea toilet, vanity and stowage. Opposite the heads is a large hanging locker. Coming aft is the saloon, there is a central dining table with folding leaves, to port is a single saloon settee berth with a trotter box and to starboard is a large double saloon settee berth. Aft to port is the galley, there is a fitted cool box, stainless steel basin with manual fresh water tap and a two burner Plastimo Neptune 2000 stove/oven/grill. There is plenty of secure stowage around the galley and there are lots of hand holds and fiddled edges. Starboard is the nav station, there is a chart table with stowage below, the JRC Radar display, Garmin GPS and Garmin VHF arranged for ease of use from this position.



Mechanical Systems


Under the companionway in an insulated engine room is a Volvo MD 2020 (1997) 19hp diesel engine, fresh water cooled via heat exchanger, powering a three bladed fixed propeller via shaft drive.

Serviced every year or 100 hours in this ownership. New impeller and impeller seal in 2025. New engine start battery in 2025

Single lever controls in the cockpit.



Electrical Systems


One 12v engine crank battery, one 12v domestic battery, charging via engine alternator and solar panels.



Sails and Spars


Sloop rigged with alloy spars, deck stepped mast (2016), Stainless steel standing rigging (2016). Twin Gibb 23 two speed sheet winches in the cockpit, one Lewmar single speed halyard winch on the mast. Alloy spinnaker pole.

    Built in 1980 by Halmatic to a design by John Sharp. Dark blue painted GRP hull. Teak toe rail. White GRP superstructure with moulded non-slip to deck. Long keel with cast iron ballast. Keel hung rudder. Tiller steering. Aft self draining cockpit.
