Description

1992 Reinke Hydra 48 | Proven Aluminium Bluewater Cruiser for Offshore Passage Making

The Reinke Hydra 48 is a robust aluminium bluewater cruising yacht designed for safe, comfortable long-distance passagemaking. Purpose-built for serious offshore sailing and extended liveaboard cruising, she offers exceptional strength, practicality and self-sufficiency for sailors seeking genuine ocean-going capability. Her white aluminium hull, lead fin keel and wheel steering deliver reassuring performance across a wide range of conditions, while recent refit work provides a solid foundation for a new owner to tailor and equip her for their own cruising ambitions.

On deck, the layout is secure and functional, ideally suited to offshore passagemaking, with wide side decks, durable non-slip surfaces and excellent protection for short-handed cruising. A heavy-duty Rocna anchor with 80 metres of chain is managed via an electric windlass, while the sprayhood, bimini and winter covers ensure comfort in varying climates. Recent investment includes a full above-water hull and cockpit rebuild and repaint in 2023, newly laid solid teak in the cockpit, and comprehensive underwater hull preparation and priming.

Below deck, the Hydra 48 offers a spacious, practical interior with over two metres of headroom, two cabins and additional convertible saloon berths. Warm wood joinery creates a traditional offshore cruising atmosphere, complemented by a dedicated navigation station and well-equipped galley suited to extended life aboard. The accommodation provides an excellent platform for further personalisation depending on the next owner’s cruising plans.

Powered by a reliable Daimler Benz diesel engine, with generous tankage, solar power and comprehensive navigation equipment, this proven long-distance cruising yacht represents an excellent opportunity to acquire a capable aluminium offshore cruiser ready to be developed into an ideal bluewater home and passagemaker. Having cruised extensively through France and Italy, she is ready for her next adventure.

The condition or level of safety equipment on board is not to be negotiated on following survey. It is likely to be listed by most surveyors but is not structural or an integral working part of the vessel and is not to be used to further negotiate the price down after survey. We strongly suggest that for your own personal safety that when purchasing a yacht you provide new safety equipment rather than relying on second hand gear.

Should you become the new owner of this yacht then the responsibility to re-register or update official bodies for items such as EPIRB, VHF, MMSI or AIS becomes yours.
