NAUTOR SWAN 56

TENACITY is for sale for the first time since her delivery new in 2002. This beautiful dark blue Swan 56 has been in one ownership from new. She benefits from many upgrades and has been skipper maintained. Owner stateroom aft and three further cabins. Many custom features at build.Hydraulic furling for main and genoa – easily sailed.

Construction

RCD Status: The yacht conforms with the essential safety requirements of Directive 94/25EC or RCDII (2013/53/EU as appropriate (Recreational Craft Directive) and is categorised A – “Ocean”.

 

Hull, Deck & Superstructure Construction:

• Single skin construction using glass, aramid hybrid fibre reinforced polyester with protective epoxy coating below the waterline.
• Bulkheads are of marine ply encapsulated and bonded to the hull.
• "Flag Blue" topsides with two silver boot-top stripes, painted 2014 at Berthon.
• Black anti-fouling.
• White coachroof sides with two flag blue stripes.
• 2018 full new teak decks.
• Teak toe rails with 8 x roller counter-sunk fairleads and drains for easy run-off of water.
• 6 x flush deck aluminium framed white powder coated stainless locking latches. 

 

Keel & Rudder:

• Lead fin keel with stainless steel keel bolts.
• Spade rudder with self-aligning bearings, lower one replaced in 2026.
• Nautor rudder stock.

Machinery

Engine & Gearboxes:

• Yanmar 4JH3-HTE 100hp engine.
• Shaft drive.
• Emergency shutdown.
• Engine alarm at cockpit, low oil pressure, coolant overheat, battery charging low.
• U-Lube by Groco.
• Auto oil changing system for both engine and generator.
• Excellent access to the engine/generator room via companionway steps and door at starboard side.

Electrical Systems

Voltage Systems:

• 12vDC/24vDC domestic system with 220v/110AC ring main from generator and/or shorepower.

 

Battery Banks:

• 1 x 12 V engine starter battery –  2026.
• 1 x 12 V generator starter battery – 2022.
• Engine and generator starter batteries located under floorboard in the passage at chart table.
• 12 x 24 V PowerSafe SBS 580 lead-acid service batteries, 2v units (made 2018) – installed in Palma in 2020.
• Service batteries are located under the sofa forward in the saloon and are charged by the engine alternator, or via 220v chargers run off the generator / shore power.

 

Battery Chargers:

• Mastervolt Charge Master Plus 24v/100A automatic battery charger, new April 2026.
• Ignition protection Gauge 10 amp charge pro battery charger.
• Automatic battery charging system.
• Mastervolt Inverter, Mass Sine 24/2500.

 

Generator:

• Whisper Power M-SQ11 120/240V 60 Hz, 11kW at 1,500 rpm – 2012.
• Raw water, cooler exhauster and silencer, in insulated housing.

Shore Power:

• Automatic selection 110/240v socket, with land cable.

Plumbing Systems

Fresh Water & Water Heating System:

• Caliber 12-24 vdc high pressure system xrs-124.
• Hot water heated via 110v or from the engine heat exchanger.
• Hot water tank 110v, under the aft bed.

 

Watermaker:

• Aqua water, Sea recovery SRC AWC 1200-2 – new 2012.

 

Bilge Pumps:

• 2 x electrical automatic bilge pumps.
• Manual bilge pump in the cockpit.
• Manual bilge pump in the main saloon.
• 1 x manual and electric sump pump in each head area for the grey water sump.

Tankage

Fuel:

• 3 x stainless steel fuel tanks, total capacity 400 litres/120 gallons.

Grey/Blackwater Holding Tanks:

• 2 x blackwater holding tanks (20 litres each).
• Grey water sump tanks for showers at each head area (electric / manual discharge).

Navigation Equipment

• Brookes and Gatehouse equipment including, screens, MFD’s, radar and VHF all 2024, installed at Jamestown Boatyard, Rhode Island:-
• 2 x Zeus multi-functional screen displays, one at nav station, one at helm position - 2024.
• 3 x B&G multi-functional displays, two in the cockpit, one at the nav station - 2024.
• B&G 20/20 displays on the mast with control unit in the cockpit - 2024.
• B&G radar scanner mounted on radar post aft, 2024 (along with Starlink antenna).

• Cariboni hydraulic “magic trim” main sheet system, installed in lazarette, new 2012 (replacing the original track system). The unit was overhauled in the B.V.I. -  2025.
• Running rigging, mostly 2019.
• Navtec manual hydraulic system for backstay, baby stay & vang control (control panel located on front of pedestal).
• All internal mast wiring was replaced in 2024.
• Mainsheet and main furler push button controls by the helm, port and starboard.
• Headstay furler controlled at the helm.

Winches:

• 2 x Lewmar ST74 electric sheet winches, with control buttons positioned close to the helm.
• 5 x Lewmar ST54 manual winches.
• 1 x Lewmar ST54 electric halyard winch (motor replaced in 2012), forward on starboard side.
