Keel bolts are of high-tensile stainless steel.
The rudder is foam filled GRP with tapered lightweight hollow composite stock, supported by 2 x self-aligning roller bearings.
Lower tip of rudder designed to break before the stock.
Machinery
Engine & Gearboxes:
Marine engine MTU 6R 183 TE7, output 305 kW/414 HP at 1900 rpm, with CP marine reduction gear type Mekanord 270 HS/LS.
Engine room internally sound insulated.
Equipment and sound insulation mounted in accordance with the noise and vibration consultant's advice.
Sprocket and chain steering gear, sheaves provided with guards to prevent jamming.
Aluminium steering quadrant bolted to rudder stock.
Twin 55" destroyer type wheels with teak trim and disconnecting clutch, 4.5 turns H.O. to H.O.
Pedestals with roller bearings and friction brake. Emergency steering by autopilot.
Electrical Systems
Voltage Systems:
2-pole 24V insulated return DC-system for lighting blowers, pumps, etc.
Wires are sized to minimize voltage drop.
All batteries use series connections to avoid circulating currents between batteries.
400V three phase five-wire AC system.
The AC system can be fed by the diesel generators, shore power inlet or from DC/AC inverters.
The AC system is equipped with a PLC controlled power shedding system.
Battery Banks:
The service batteries are of maintenance-free traction gel cell type.
The batteries consist of 2 x individual 24V banks referred to as service battery 1 and 2.
Each service battery bank has a capacity of 2,000 Ah/8 h.
The battery banks consist of 12 batteries of 2V each.
The starting batteries are of maintenance-free Gel Cell.
There are 3 x 24V banks, 1 x for the main engine and 1 x for each generator, each with a capacity of 55 Ah/20h. There is also a 24V 55 Ah battery for supply of main engine control system.
Each set consist of 2 pcs of 1V each.
Battery Chargers:
Mass 24/V100 A, 3.3 kW 8 pcs, 3 stage chargers battery chargers.
Mass 24V/25A 0,75 kW 3 stage charger battery chargers.
The generators are mounted on hydro elastic sound/vibration absorbing seating's, inside proprietary sound shields.
Shore Power:
Inlet at the stern of the yacht.
The inlet leads to an Atlas Energy System frequency converter, 25 kVA.
The frequency converter accepts inlet voltages between 190 - 250V and 350 - 520V AC, 47 to 63 Hz and 1 or 3 phase, and converts them to 400V 50 Hz three phase.
Hydraulics:
The system has five separate power sources. Each source can be operated independently.
1 x PTO pump on main engine reduction gear.
Port and starboard Generator PTO pumps.
2 x DC Electric motor standby pump units.
As the sail handling is independent on hydraulics it is important to have alternative power sources to ensure trouble free operation.
Other Electrical:
2 x Mastervolt 24/5000 VA.
Conversion of 24V DC to 230V 1 phase AC 50 Hz.
8 x Mastervolt, Mass 24V 100 A chargers with 3 step charge characteristics, for service batteries (four chargers per battery set).
Starting batteries can be charged by a Mastervolt Mass 5 A charger with the same characteristics as for the service batteries.
400V Three Phase Consumers.
