Step aboard Pelican Chorus and discover a perfect blend of performance, comfort, and thoughtful design. Designed with both cruising comfort and short-handed capability in mind, the Marlow-Hunter 40 features an in-mast furling mainsail and all lines are led aft, making her incredibly easy to sail; whether you're heading offshore or enjoying a leisurely afternoon bay-hopping with her shoal-draft keel. Below deck, the wide beam carried well aft creates more than average volume, offering a bright, open saloon, generous headroom, and lots of natural light. The two-cabin layout offers privacy and comfort, with double aft featuring an offset island berth and en-suite head and a forward guest cabin with en-suite. The L-shaped galley is well-appointed with solid-surface worktops and modern appliances, making life on board as enjoyable as it is functional. The cockpit is one of the largest in her class, providing plenty of space for entertaining or relaxing under sail. Twin wheels offer excellent visibility and easy access to the swim platform, enhancing both safety and enjoyment underway or at anchor. Lying Conwy Marina, North Wales

The Hunter 40 features a hand-laid polyester hull construction, with solid laminate below the waterline for strength and durability. Vinylester resin is incorporated into the outer laminate layers, together with an NPG gelcoat finish, to provide enhanced resistance against osmotic blistering.
Above the waterline, the hull benefits from end-grain balsa core construction to improve rigidity while reducing overall weight. Additional Kevlar reinforcement is integrated into the forward sections of the hull from the keel upwards for increased impact protection.
The deck is also balsa-cored, with solid laminate inserts beneath all deck hardware to ensure secure and reliable fittings.
Why Marlow-Hunter instead of Hunter? In 2012, Hunter Marine was acquired by Marlow Yachts. David E Marlow embarked on upgrading the Hunter brand to a much higher standard. The influence of Marlow Manufacturing was reflected in the design, manufacture and quality of the Marlow Hunter line during its entire production run. Pelican Chorus is a proud example of the Marlow-Hunter 40, sometimes referred to as the 40-2, refined and produced from 2014-2018.
