Description

KINGFISHER is a fine example of the Discovery 55, one of the most respected and admired bluewater cruisers around. Designed and constructed for ocean passagemaking, these yachts are strong, capable, and seaworthy, while remaining responsive and enjoyable to sail. Her voyages include an Atlantic crossing and participation in the RORC Caribbean 600. Meticulously maintained from new and further refined through seven years of blissful Mediterranean cruising, KINGFISHER is now ready to deliver unforgettable adventures to her next custodians.

Construction

RCD Status: The yacht conforms with the essential safety requirements of Directive 94/25EC or RCDII (2013/53/EU as appropriate (Recreational Craft Directive) and is categorised A – “Ocean”

 

Hull, Deck & Superstructure Construction:

  • Hull molding in Navy blue number 038 with boot top line in gold.
  • Antifouling in Seajet Navy Blue.
  • Black window mullions.
  • Teak to side decks and cockpit

 

Keel & Rudder:

  • 9,500kg (20,500lb) shaped lead keel and a depth of 7’3” (2.23m) provides a ballast ratio of 42% providing maximum stability.
  • Semi balanced large Kevlar reinforced rudder.

Machinery

Engine & Gearboxes:

  • 1 x Yanmar 4LHA-HTP 160hp diesel engine with gearbox ratio of 2.68:1.
  • Racor Twin Fuel Filter with alarm.
