Grand Banks Alaskan 49

Description

The Grand Banks name is synonymous with high-quality motor yachts built in the style of American commercial fishing boats. Founded in 1956, the company began building yachts in Hong Kong before moving production to Singapore. Today, they still produce high-quality motor yachts with the recognisable style and the same high standards, using the finest materials for which the brand has become known.

The Grand Banks Alaskan 49 differs in style from the other Grand Banks models of the time, drawing inspiration from the designs of commercial fishing boats operating in the waters off America’s north-west and the Alaskan coasts. The high, flared bow is designed to punch into larger waves, throwing the water outboard and providing a more comfortable passage for the crew.

Hull number 54 of the Alaskan 49 build series, ALASKAN STAR has been in the same family ownership since 1978, a cherished member of the family and a familiar sight around the coast of Scotland. Wintered ashore, undercover, she has benefited from a proactive and continual maintenance regime. Her spacious interior provides an open-plan saloon and galley at deck level. Elevated wheelhouse with additional seating and skippers berths. Comfortable below-decks accommodation for six, across two cabins.

Now reluctantly for sale as the current generation of owners look to move to different projects. This lovely classic trawler yacht is now available for immediate viewing on her berth in Kip Marina.
