The Beneteau First 260 Spirit is a compact, performance-oriented sailboat designed by the renowned French design group Groupe Finot in collaboration with Beneteau. Around 500 were built during the middle to late 1990’s
It's celebrated for its innovative use of space, blending cruiser comfort with racer agility, earning it a reputation for excellent performance on the water.
Notably, even the lead designer, Jean-Marie Finot, owned and sailed a First 260 Spirit for several years, underscoring its appeal to enthusiasts.

Accommodation
Up to 4 berths across two cabins with a separate enclosed heads compartment

Forward cabin: Double 'V'-shaped berth, open shelf alongside each side of berth,
Overhead opening deck hatch, sliding door to heads compartment

Heads compartment: A light and relatively large compartment, with a Jabsco 'Twist-n-Lock' marine-flushing toilet to starboard, moulded wash basin to port with hand pumped fresh water.

Saloon: with two single settee berths either side of the saloon table. Open storage shelf storage each side and additional storage behind seat back and under settees. Central saloon table with drop leaf.

Galley Area: Located to the port side aft; the galley is fitted with a two-burner Thetford gas cooker with grill. Top opening insulated cool box, moulded sink with a hand pumped fresh water supply.

Chart Table: Located aft to starboard: A well-sized aft-facing chart table with internal stowage, with the main 12V DC distribution panel alongside.

Mechanical and Electrical Systems
Volvo Penta MD2010B 9Hp 2 cylinder indirectly cooled diesel engine.
Conventional shaft drive with Volvo type non-drip shaft seal to 2 blade fixed prop
Electrical:
2 X 12V batteries charged by engine driven alternator.
Tankage:
Fuel – 30 litres
Water – 34 litres

Sails and Spars
Rigged as a fractional Bermudan sloop on alloy mast and spars by Z Spars
• Rod kicker by Z Spars to support the boom when reefing the mainsail.
• All control lines are led aft to the cockpit and pass-through mainly Spinlock rope clutches
• Wire backstay with a lever & rope tackle tensioner
• Lazyjack system with blue-coloured acrylic 'Stack Pack' style sail cover.
• 2 x Lewmar 16ST self-tailing halyard & sheet winches.

Sails include:
• Mainsail in a polyester laminate material with a full-length top batten (Hood Sails)
• Furling genoa in a polyester laminate material with sacrificial U.V. protection strip (Hood Sails)
• Asymmetric spinnaker/cruising chute (Dolphin sails)
• Symmetrical spinnaker in turtle bag

Within the cockpit:
• Raymarine ST6002 autopilot control head, smart pilot course computer & tiller pilot ram
• Raymarine ST60 Tri-Data Log/Speed & Depth.
