Description

BLOOM is a beautiful example of the highly sought-after Sweden Yachts 370. She was extensively refitted by her current owner in 2023, and maintenance has continued to a high standard. She has a recent flexi teak deck and standing rigging, so all the big-ticket items have been done. Original built in 1998 she is not showing her years. A Berthon Essential listing.

Construction

RCD Status: The yacht conforms with the essential safety requirements of Directive 94/25EC or RCDII (2013/53/EU as appropriate (Recreational Craft Directive) and is categorised A – “Ocean” (or Cat B – whichever is appropriate)

 

CE Category A (Ocean) and Lloyds Hull certification.

 

Hull, Deck & Superstructure Construction:

  • Through hulls and seacock fittings replaced - Trudesign (2025).
  • Teak deck removed & replaced with Flexiteek (2023).
  • Cockpit renovated (screws removed, epoxy filled, new deck plugs and new caulking) (2023).
  • Deck & cockpit resprayed (once deck was removed) in Awlgrip (2023).
  • Topsides and hull stripes resprayed in Awlgrip (2023).
  • End grain balsa core sandwich using fibreglass mat and roving on both sides, giving a light, rigid and well insulated hull.
  • Balsa core is used from toe rail to below water line.
  • Solid laminate is used in high stress areas around keel, mast foot and the joint between the two hull halves.
  • Bottom reinforcements are longitudinal and transversal solid laminate design.
  • The deck is moulded in fibreglass with end grain balsa core sandwich.
  • The hull and deck is bonded together using polyester filler. The alloy toe rail is then bolted through the hull and deck flange using sealing material.
  • All main bulkheads are bonded to the hull and deck using glass fibre and polyester.

 

Keel & Rudder:

  • Fin keel with lead ballast externally bolted to hull using stainless steel bolts.
  • Balanced GRP spade rudder designed for comfortable cruising and easy manoeuvring.
  • Stainless steel rudder shaft.
  • Keel dropped, bolts checked and resealed during refit (2023).

Machinery

Engine & Gearboxes

  • 1 x 40hp Volvo MD2040B with 120S Saildrive.
  • Saildrive hull seal replaced (2026).
  • Saildrive fully serviced with new seals and lower bearing replaced (2026).
  • Engine starter panel replaced (2022).
  • New freshwater pump (2025).

 

Maintenance & Performance:

  • Engine hours – approx. 1650 hrs.
  • Engine serviced annually.

 

Propulsion & Steering:

  • Volvo three blade folding prop (17 inch by 12-inch pitch).
  • Stainless steel wheel with leather cover.
  • Steering pedestal rebuilt and steering cables replaced (2024).

Electrical Systems

Voltage Systems:

  • 12vDC domestic system with 220V ring main from or shorepower.
  • 2 x 240V outlets in main cabin.
  • 2 x 240V outlets, 1 x in aft and 1 x forecabin.

 

Battery Banks:

  • 4 x AGM Hankook M31-925 100Ah deep cycle batteries.
  • 1 x Dedicated engine battery (2025).
  • 3 x Dedicated house batteries (2026).

 

Battery Chargers:

  • Mastervolt 120v/230v smart battery charger.
  • Split diode replaced (charges house or engine battery, or both) (2021).
  • Mastervolt inverter 1500w 230V.

 

Alternators:

  • Balmar 100A alternator.

 

Shore Power:

  • Shore power cable and connector replaced 2021.
  • Galvanic isolator installed (to prevent shore side power corrosion issues).

  • Air X Wind generator.
  • 2 x Solar panels (bimini mounted 155 watts).

Plumbing Systems

  • Cockpit drain hoses replaced and new through hulls fitted (2025).

 

Fresh Water & Water Heating System:

  • Water calorifier replaced (hot water via engine or shore power) (2024).
  • Hot and cold fresh water to heads hand basin, heads hand shower, double stainless steel galley sinks.

 

Watermaker:

  • Echo Tec watermaker model 260DML-1 13 GHP (unused by current owner).

 

Bilge Pumps:

  • Electric and manual bilge pumps.

Tankage

Fuel:

  • 1 x 150 litres stainless steel tank.

 

Fresh Water:

Summary of Accommodation:

  • Full upholstery replacement- memory foam mattresses for aft and forward cabins. Settee berth cushions replaced, cockpit cushions (2017).

 

Description of layout:

  • Mahogany 2 x stateroom interior with large owners cabin aft.
  • Vee berth fore cabin with double berth.
  • Steps up to the berth with storage compartments underneath (storage  for sails, tender etc.).
  • Hanging locker to port and large heads compartment opposite with separate access from the forward cabin and saloon.
  • Head contains shower, Raritan Superflush toilet, sink and vanity mirrors.
  • Main saloon has two curved settees with seating for 6 and drop leaf table on centreline with bottle stowage.
  • Standing height in the saloon 1.92 meters.
  • Storage lockers behind seat backs and cupboards above.
  • Inspection hatches and storage compartments under the floor (8 pieces).
  • LED reading lights.
  • Teak and holly sole with small rug for extra protection.
  • Next aft is well sized navigation  table to port with removable navigation stool and dedicated chart storage locker above. Fold down panel with space for instruments and access to wiring etc.
  • L shaped galley is to starboard with double sinks, Formica counter tops, large top opening fridge and 2 burner stove with oven. Openable portlight over stove (customised by prior owner).
  • Double sinks in galley with single lever mixer tap.
  • Teak cutting board, also as a top over sinks.
  • Aft of the companionway accessed to port is the full width aft cabin, with a large double bed, settee, hanging locker and storage shelving.
