FAIRLINE Targa 47 GT

The Targa 47 GT is one of those touchstone boats that just got it right from the get-go. CLOUD NINE is a beautifully presented 2008 model featuring replacement cockpit upholstery, new (2026) navigation electronics, upgraded Volvo D9-575 engines, bow and stern thrusters, and a deeply gorgeous, high-gloss American Cherry wood interior. With its shaft-drive simplicity, exceptional seakeeping, and wonderful cockpit, this is truly one of the ultimate sportsboats!

Construction

RCD Status: The yacht conforms with the essential safety requirements of Directive 94/25EC or RCDII (2013/53/EU as appropriate (Recreational Craft Directive) and is categorised B – “Offshore” for 12 persons on board.

 

Hull, Deck & Superstructure Construction:

• Fairline Targa 47 GT built by Fairline Boats Ltd to a design by Bernard Olesinski and the Fairline Design Team.
• GRP planing hull with deep 'V' forefoot softening to an 18° deadrise aft.
• Hull finished in white Isophthalic gel coat backed by an isophthalic resin-rich powder-bound glass mat.
• Navy blue hull stripe.
• All gel coat and glass fibre is laid up by hand, incorporating chopped strand glass mat and unidirectional and woven rovings.
• Transverse and longitudinal strengthening stringers throughout hull with engine bearers moulded into the hull.
• Full length moulded spray deflectors.
• The integral bathing platform gives the boat a longer waterline length for improved performance, particularly at reduced power settings.
• Semi-tunnelled propellers enabling the engines to be located further aft, also reducing draught and improving efficiency by reducing the shaft angle.
• Hull/deck join bonded and bolted.
• The deck incorporates polyurethane foam cores for high strength and excellent thermal insulation.
• Bathing platform, cockpit, steps, and side decks laid in teak.
• Antifouled Spring 2026.

Machinery

Engine & Gearboxes:

• 2 x Volvo D9-575 EVC 575hp 9.4 litre 6-cylinder inline diesel engines - turbocharged and aftercooled.
• Direct drive via ZF 305A reduction gearboxes.
• Engine room & generator access via central cockpit hatch and stainless-steel ladder.
• Insulated and LED lit engine space.
• Cast iron block and one-piece cylinder head with replaceable wet liners and valve seats/guides for superb long-term durability.
• Freshwater cooling via heat exchangers.
