Cobra 1050

The Cobra 1050 is an honest, robust and highly capable British built cruiser, known for exceptional interior volume and stiff heavy weather handling. Under Supermac’s current tenure she has been well maintained, including new standing rigging (2026), new propellor (2026), electric fuel pump (replaced 2024), cutlass bearing, prop shaft and stern gear (replaced 2025) All backed up with a 2026 Survey. She has travelled extensively around the Greek Coast and sailed by the published author Rod Heikell who mentioned her in his book “Greek Waters Pilot”. She returned to local waters in 1990 and was purchased by her current owners in 2006. If you are in the market for a proven boat that you could modernise for yourself, she has potential.

Accommodation

The accommodation offers up to 6 berths within two cabins and the saloon with generous stowage throughout. Up front there is a large V-berth with infill and stowage below. Opening hatch to foredeck. Moving aft, heads to port with Jabsco manual marine toilet, moulded basin and shower tap. Hanging locker opposite to starboard. Further aft to port in the spacious saloon is a U-shaped dinette and fixed table with double drop-down leaves. Settee berth opposite with a hidden safe behind. Well-equipped galley on port side including CamperCool fridge freezer, microwave, Wallas 2 burner diesel hob, grill and oven. Stainless-steel sink. Navigation station opposite with electrical distribution panel, navigation equipment and chart stowage. Second heads to starboard with Lavac manual marine toilet and access to the quarter aft cabin, presently used for stowage. Pressurised hot & cold-water throughout. Approximately 71 litre water tank. Approximately 60 litre holding tank.

Mechanical Systems

Located behind the companionway steps in an insulated and ventilated engine bay, is a Thornycroft T95 (2007) marine diesel engine. 39 HP four cylinders, naturally aspirated. Fresh water cooled via a heat exchanger. Shaft drive via a reduction gearbox to a fixed propeller. Electric start. Single lever engine controls. Approximately 250 engine hours. Approximately 70 litre fuel supply. Bow thruster.

Masthead rigged Bermudan sloop. Deck stepped alloy mast and boom, Stainless steel standing rigging (parts replaced in 2023 and completed 2026). Terylene running rigging. Two Arco two speed winches. Two Arco single speed winches.

Construction

Built by Cobra Yachts in 1978 to a David Feltham design. Blue GRP hull and superstructure. White GRP moulded deck with Tread master non slip to deck, seating and cockpit sole. Stainless steel pulpit, push pit and guard rails around. Fully encapsulated cast iron long keel. Single wheel steering to a skeg hung rudder. A presale survey has been carried out in 2026.
