The Certified Professional Boat Broker (CPBB) Career Pathway developed by ABYA in partnership with British Marine, supports both aspiring and experienced boat brokers who want to build their knowledge, demonstrate their professionalism and gain recognised certification.
Combining practical training, specialist learning, professional experience and assessment, the pathway provides a clear route from developing your core brokerage skills through to becoming a Certified Professional Boat Broker.

The Certified Professional Boat Broker Career Pathway is delivered in partnership by ABYA and ABYA and British Marine, bringing together industry expertise, professional training and recognised standards to support the development of the next generation of professional boat brokers.
The partnership provides aspiring and experienced brokers with a clear route to develop their knowledge, demonstrate their professional competence and achieve recognised certification.
Your pathway to certification
For those beginning their professional development, the pathway starts with the two-day Practical Yacht Broker Course or Practical Inland Broker Course, followed by an examination.
You can then progress towards Certified Professional Boat Broker status through a structured 12–18 month programme, which includes:
