What the New National Lockdown Means for you
Published: 23 November 20
As of Sunday, the 1st November, Prime Minister Boris Johnson has announced that the UK will be going into a second 4-week lock-down which started on the 5th November. As the proposed date for the end of this lock-down draws near we will continue to provide you with the best service.
Due to the announcement that ‘if you can work from home, you should’ - our team at the YBDSA will be working from home but will still aim to provide as regular service as we can, however if you do need to get in contact with us, we encourage you to please email the team member you require (see below) or please call the relevant phone number for your query (also see below).
All members have been emailed the joint statement written by YBDSA & British Marine, this document outlines how members within the industry are allowed to practice their craft under the new regulations. You can see this document here
Additionally, the RYA have released an update on their communications with authorities in both England and Scotland and note that there are no changes to the guidance in Northern Ireland and Wales. They continue to say that although there is not much detailed on what this means for the boating industry, the RYA are working closely with the relevant government departments and are awaiting further information.,
The Royal Yachting Association continued by saying “Please be assured that we will continue to work with the relevant authorities to represent the interests of the boating community. Our primary concern remains the health of our members, affiliated clubs and classes, recognised training centres (RTCs), instructors, staff and volunteers.”
